Vehicle Rental FAQs

3 days minimum. These days will include the days you pick up and drop off the vehicle. Make sure to make the most of those days and pick up and drop off with considered planning to get the most of your time with the car.
Yes, it's possible to cross borders in the vehicles provided that all crossings are pre-arranged. This is available for an extra fee.
Yes, however different packages are available. When making your booking these will be discussed with you.
You don’t need special driving experience, but it helps to have experience with off-road driving if you plan to venture into rugged terrain. It’s important to understand the vehicle’s capabilities and limitations. We can recommend some fun training courses for you to attend with our vehicles that have a social benefit too, otherwise some short videos to share as well. We have an online course available as an optional extra. This is Jimny 4x4 specific and endorsed by Suzuki South Africa. We ask that you return the vehicle in a clean condition. This includes removing trash, cleaning the camping gear, and washing the exterior if necessary.
All our vehicles use petrol unleaded fuel unless otherwise indicated. You will receive the vehicle with a full tank and you are required to return it with a full tank. If this is not the case we will top up the fuel tank and deduct the amount from your deposit.
The primary pick-up and drop-off point is in Cape Town. Additional charges will be applied for secondary Drop-off locations. View these locations and costs in CAMP 4x4 Terms and conditions
Yes, many people bring their own personal camping gear for comfort or preference. However, our idea is that anyone can jump into our vehicle with a bag of clothes and some groceries and they are a -for-away. Hassle free!
You will typically need a valid driver’s license, a credit card for the deposit hold, proof of insurance, and possibly a passport if you’re renting internationally.
We regret to say our vehicles are not pet friendly at this stage due to space constraints for now.

Gear Rental FAQs

Yes, a fee will be added to your bill for fitment. Fitment usually takes between 1-2 hours so please account for this in your daily plan. There is a coffee shop at the fitment centre where you are welcome to wait while the fitment takes place.
Yes. Be sure to make the most of the days you have rented gear with early pick up and drop offs before 4pm to make the most of your adventure with our gear.
If you have an appropriate vehicle of your own, you can rent our gear separately. We also have other camping supplies such as floor tents, cookers, fridges etc. that can be rented no matter what vehicle you have.
No, a lot of vehicles are compatible with our products. Get in touch if you want to discuss to make 100% sure.
Minimum 3 day requirement. No maximum.
Insurance does not cover the equipment. Any damage will be for the renter’s account.
